Our published five-day Beijing journey is a starting point. Keep arrival light, reserve a separate day for the Great Wall, and group central sights instead of crossing the city repeatedly. Do not force the palace, the Wall and the Summer Palace into a single sightseeing day. Extra time is useful for travelers who enjoy museums or need shorter walks.
Connections & practical choices
Confirm the precise airport, hotel and Wall section before arranging transfers. A private vehicle does not eliminate walking, steps or attraction queues. Timed reservations determine the order of sightseeing, so agree an alternative if a preferred site cannot be booked. An onward rail or flight departure needs its own transfer allowance.
