What makes it different
Shanghai suits travelers drawn to architecture, dining and the contrast between the Bund's waterfront and the modern skyline. How to shape the days
Keep city exploration together before moving on to Suzhou, Wuzhen and Hangzhou. Choose a focused garden or old-town visit rather than several similar stops in one afternoon. Decide whether a water-town overnight matters to you; it changes luggage handling, hotel choice and the balance between city and countryside time.
Connections & practical choices
Pudong and Hongqiao are different airports; match transfers to the actual flight. A Hangzhou departure can avoid returning to Shanghai, but only if flight schedules and fares suit. If departing Shanghai, allow for the return leg rather than treating it as free sightseeing time. Attraction visits and intercity transport remain subject to availability.
